GE Vernova welcomes aspiring scientists and engineers to Youth STEM Camps in Dubai and Lagos.
Recently, GE Vernova invited young aspiring scientists and engineers in Dubai and Lagos to an unforgettable Youth STEM Camp experience.
Designed to spark curiosity and foster problem-solving skills, the camp welcomed 55 children (ages 9-15) of our very own GE Vernova employees to engage in hands-on STEM activities.
The kids learned directly from employee volunteers who brought STEM to life through erupting volcanoes, making ice-cream, building hydraulic arms, connecting robotic systems, and more.
Thanks to the STEM programming team, the experience offered an immersive way for students to learn about STEM principles, while inspiring a passion for innovation and discovery.
“The real magic happened when students stepped back to reflect on their experiments,” said SSA ITR Leader Kenneth Oyakhire. “The kids got the chance to learn the “how” and “why” behind each activity, impacting great knowledge in a fun filled way.”
Early youth exposure to engineering concepts has been proven to increase the likelihood of pursuing STEM in higher education and future careers, reinforcing GE Vernova’s dedication to building future-ready talent in the communities it operates in.
“By encouraging curiosity and creativity at a young age, our company is paving the way for breakthrough innovations that can power the future of energy,” said Field Engineer with OFS MEA and Project Leader Abdul Wahab Khan.
Exciting plans are in motion to expand the reach of these Youth STEM Camps across the Middle East and Africa regions. Through programs such as this, GE Vernova has the power to truly inspire our youth and shape the next generation of innovators.
