Gas Power Plant Leaders gathered in Wroclaw, Poland to advance EHS, quality, collaboration, and transformation across Global Supply Chain sites.
The Global Supply Chain recently held its annual Gas Power Plant Leader Summit in Wroclaw Poland.
The summit was primarily focused on EHS and Quality, providing a great space for plant leaders to discuss best practices, grow networks, strengthen standards, and engage in experiential learning.
Agenda Highlights
The summit’s agenda was structured to encourage open dialogue and problem solving, blending hands on activities with insightful discussions. Key sessions included:
Plant Leader Safety Standard Work: Leaders shared EHS & Quality success stories across peer plants and developed specific read across action plans.
“The explanation provided excellent clarity on Read Across activation methodology and its practical application of lessons learned. Read Across serves as a powerful mechanism for knowledge dissemination across facilities, ultimately driving operational consistency throughout our manufacturing network,” said QHD Repair Service Center Leader Ying Zhou.
AI Applications: From learning the basics of AI and AMP2.0 common applications to fundamentals of 1P1P, leaders learned how to get plants ready to activate Global Supply Chain multi-generational automation targets.
“‘Automation is not AI and Robots’… Great intro to the subject session like the ability to eliminate waste and feedback collected data back to the system/machines to self-calibrate or early detect upcoming problems,” said GESAT Plant Manager Wojciech Ostrowski. System level thinking is a must where today we spend way too much time and efforts on scientific analysis without connecting value with operators and ops team.”
Customer Panel Discussions: Clive Nickolay (VP, HDNU) and Steve Kessinger (VP, Global Services) led the GP Business Line Panel Discussion, providing a business commercial update and having an engaging conversation about market growth with emphasis on criticality of our Global Supply Chain function.
“The panel discussion was great,” said Schenectady Cores and Castings Plant Manager Patrick Lee. “I appreciated their insights into the HDNU and Services businesses. I left this session energized by the partnership and value that the supply chain can bring to their organizations.”
Wroclaw Tour & Shop Floor Sprint: Leaders were given a Wroclaw tour and participated in (mini) Kaizen/Sprints across the Wroclaw Plant shop floor, taking action to implement improvements through hands-on applications from 5S basics to 7-Ways to arrive at improved state across cross functional areas of the plant.
“It was an awesome tour. A lot of good things are happening, so it was great to see some of the digital tools that were being used,” said Bangor Plant Leader Fadi Al-Tigar. “I look forward to learning more about their tools to implement in the future.”
Toyota Plant Visit: Attendees visited Toyota’s Engine and Gear Plant in Walbrzych, Poland, walking away with a closer insight into Toyota Production System (TPS) basics and practical Lean benchmarking.
Fierro Plant Manager Ana Ramoneda said, “The Toyota Training and Onboarding Center was very inspiring and highlighted the value of a hands-on approach to onboarding. [Because of this] we will develop a more practical, on-the-job onboarding process for newly hired hourly employees.”
Local ERG Community Service: Leaders got the chance to network while giving back to “Primary School 61” and assembled 60 school supply kits for displaced Ukraine war families now residing in the Wroclaw local area.
“We have such a large community of leaders, so the Summit’s emphasis on engagement was super valuable… it enabled us to learn to partner better and leverage one another’s strengths,” said Greenville Plant Manager Jason Reagan.
With 32 plant leaders and 13 Global Supply Chain staff in attendance, the summit had representation from 19 countries across GE Vernova’s operating landscape.
When reflecting on learning, Global Technical Support Leader Stuart Probasco emphasized the wealth of knowledge learned from the summit.
“I really appreciated understanding the bigger picture and the message of ‘All eyes are on us’ was a strong takeaway to inspire us and our teams,” said Stuart Probasco. “2026 is foundational for Gas Power Global Supply Chain to set the stage moving forward for a strong future.”
Through the power of collaboration at great events like our Gas Power Plant Leader Summit, our plant leaders are ready for just that — building the foundation for the future the organization.
